Jennifer Knollenberg, Metalsmith - Designer
Jennifer Knollenberg has been a metalsmith for 10 years. She began her career at Clear Creek Academy and is a graduate of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, certified by the Jewelers of America as a Bench Jeweler Technician and is a Level 3 certified instructor of PMC. Jennifer has worked with an established San Francisco jewelry designer, Pierrot Designs of Denver and shows her work at several galleries and exclusive jewelry stores throughout the country.
Jennifer has taught numerous classes in both traditional metalsmithing and PMC techniques. Her students find her classes to be inspiring and a springboard for their own creativity and new found skills. Jennifer is a consummate student herself, constantly looking for new techniques and ways of incorporating her skills in granulation, stone setting, mokume gane, enameling, beading, metal etching, PMC, copper and bronze clay and jewelry collage. She has studied with fabulous teachers such as Alan Revere, Jean Stark, Robert Wooding, Carrie Adel, Marne Ryan, Harold O’Connor, CeCe Wire, Mary Anne Devos and Sheri Haab.
Jennifer often uses PMC in her work in combination with metalsmithing. She finds that having a thorough understanding of metalsmithing helps her PMC pieces to look finely tuned and distinctly different from other PMC artists work.
Jennifer feels that for her, art is the medium through which she helps others to see the extraordinary in the ordinary. It is a pure act of creation inspired by her aesthetic sensibilities, emotions, beliefs and ideas. Her work designing and fabricating jewelry is a process of transformation, a marriage of the chemistry of metals and gems with the alchemy of creativity. Jennifer’s goal is to help others to design and make their own unique treasures that celebrate the spirit of the creator.
