Intro Goldsmithing Workshop

Date: 09/28/06

• 1 - Jeweler's saw,
• 1 dozen - 2/0 blades,
• 1 - #2 inside ring file,
• Emery and/or sanding sticks at least: emery 1/0 and 2/0, or sanding 400 and 600 grit,
• Combination half-round pliers,
• Assorted needle files, at least: half round, barette, and round,
• 1 - bezel pusher (sold as stone pusher),
• Assorted blue wheels with mandrels,
• Assorted silipum wheels with mandrels,
• 1 - #56 drill bit,
• 1 - 3.5mm faceted round stone (synthetic or natural) of your choice plus one extra in case you break one,
• 1 - setting bur - as close to the size of your stone as possible,
• 1 straight-walled tube setting to fit a 3.5mm stone,
• 1 - 2mm bud bur
• 1 - 3mm bud bur
• 1 dwt each: 14KY hard solder,
• 14KY medium solder (you may wish to share the solder with a buddy)
• For ladies - 1 2.75" piece 4mm x 1mm 14KY gold stock,
• For men - 1 3" piece 4mm x 1.5mm 14KY gold stock,
• A collection of small scrap pieces of sterling silver or old/broken jewelry you don't care about - for practicing with the oxy-acetylene torch,
• 1 - beeswax for booger
• 1 - curved burnisher
• 1 - mini-point mandrel (if available)
• 1 each: coarse, medium, and fine mini-points
• 1 - pair safety goggles
• 1 - particle mask
• 1 - Optivisor or loupe
• 1 - ring clamp
• OPTIONAL: flat gravers (if you have them), GRS system ring mandrel
